ASOG TBI joins national IP, TBI summits in Bacolod

Representatives of the ASOG Technology Business Incubator (ASOG TBI) joined two national innovation gatherings in Bacolod City in November, where they engaged with discussions on technology transfer, intellectual property management, and startup ecosystem development at the national level.

ASOG TBI participated in the 1st National IMPACT Conference on November 5 and 6 and the 9th National Technology Business Incubator Summit on November 7 and 8.

The events were organized by Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) in partnership with UMWAD Western Visayas.

The IMPACT Conference served as DOST-PCIEERD’s first nationwide intellectual property management gathering since the launch of the Intellectual Property Management Program for Academic Institutions Commercializing Technologies in 2018.

Its theme, “From IMPACT to NXT Horizons: Surging the Next Wave of Knowledge and Technology Transfer,” framed discussions on policy development, intellectual property protection, capacity building, and technology commercialization.

The 9th National TBI Summit, held under the theme “The Innovation Archipelago: Connecting Ecosystems, Expanding Horizons,” focused on collaboration among regional incubators, startups, government agencies, and industry partners.

The summit also served as a pre event to Philippine Startup Week and included conference sessions, fellowship activities, and workshops on incubation practices and ecosystem development.

ASOG TBI’s delegation included TBI Manager Ms. Rachelle Ann Hernando, Innovation and Community Officer Mr. Mark Andrian Pontanal, AI Expert Ms. Kaela Marie Fortuno, incubatees Abbe Gerald Rivero and John Carlo Nas, and Mr. Kevin Capoles, head of the CSPC Intellectual Property Management Division.
