Incubated teams secure top finishes at Bicol-wide AI hackathon

Incubatees of the ASOG Technology Business Incubator (ASOG TBI) earned regional recognition after securing top placements at the AI.DEAS for Impact 2025 Hackathon, an innovation competition organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region V.

The hackathon challenged teams to develop ethical, practical, and community-driven artificial intelligence solutions that address real-world concerns in the Bicol Region.

Representing Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), two ASOG TBI–supported teams advanced to the final stages of the competition. Team INFRA placed Second Runner-Up during the hackathon proper held on August 19 and 20, 2025, while Team FoodCast emerged as a Top 10 Finalist.

The Top 10 teams from across the region were announced earlier on August 13, following a rigorous pre-evaluation process.

Team INFRA is composed of John Carlo Nas, Joshua Jericho Barja, Divino Al Ricafort, John Renzzo Montenegro, and Sean Xander Aquino, under the mentorship of Mr. Allan Ibo, Jr.

Meanwhile, Team FoodCast includes Abbe Gerald Rivero, John Raymond Alba, Blessie Faith Bongalos, Harvey Lloyd Palacios, and Jobert Longares, mentored by Ms. Tiffany Lyn Pandes.

Both teams presented AI-driven solutions designed to promote ethical use of technology while delivering tangible benefits to local communities.
